Someone's pregnant (no, not me!) and I made this card for them:

I sketched this, and then converted to vectors using Illustrator's Live Trace function - I'll be working on heat transferring it to a painting as a next step, but I'm pretty happy with even this step of the process.

Penguin painting #2

Another penguin painting! This is Splorp's cousin. His name is Walter, according to his owner.

He's having a hard time keeping his balance on the slippery ice, which is why his little arms are all out. He wishes that he had some ice skates.

This is Splorp. Do you see the family resemblance?

This is yet another yeti. He likes to go to the drive-in and watch the movies really big. He also wants to be a polar bear when he grows up.

However, his life is deeply sad on the inside. Because I gave him to someone, who says he might not actually get a name. Poor yeti. Or maybe his name is just "Yeti".

This yeti is having a pleasant day. He's thinking about laying in the grass and watching the shapes in the clouds. However, he has no arms and legs, and cannot get outside by himself. But, that's OK, because he's got a vivid imagination.
